Original Update
The passion of cracktoad continues today when toad is faced with his car which hates him. i have much respect for my enemy now that i have learned as much as i have today. i hate learning. I really need to learn more about cars because there is basic stuff that seems really obvious until someone tells you.

anyway

i take it to a Ford dealership. i tell him exactly what is going on. i use lots of adjectives, he had good notes, etc, etc. I agree with the said amount of money, $80 to do a full inspection. Just like any problem, im like “fine, this is what credit cards are for” so i have no problem.

He calls me about 3 hours later and says “well, the problem is you need to turn on this fan they have installed, that should keep it cool”. He tells me he’s doing me a favor and says he only charged for half an hour. Not bad.

get to dealership 5 minutes before they close and the guy isn’t there to show me the fan. being someone of incredible inteligence and wit, i locate the fan under the hood and turn it on. just like a computer case fan but a hell of a lot bigger. learn something new everyday.

cut to 10 minutes after i leave the dealership, watching the needle creep up to the H. Fuck. After much screaming, begging a higher power to help me, it cools down and i make it home at a blazing 50 mph.

i go to a Autozone, i want a second opinion. I get there, explain whats going on, explain how im going to burn down Dobbs Ford on Mt Moriah (just so you guys know), and ask him what he thinks might be the problem.

he grabs his rain coat and says “yeah lets take a look”. We pop the hood and he goes “well, yeah here’s your problem, you need fluid in here and in here”. God. I hate troubleshooting so much. So fucking obvious, of course, coolant makes car cool. It’s all so clear now.

I just don’t get how 2 places have looked at this car and NO ONE decided to pop the 2 little caps and see if there was stuff in there. One of these places was a fucking Ford dealership too. I can’t wait to go back there tommorow and have a “talk”.

Anyway, lessons learned today. Cars need coolant to help them stay cool. Dealerships will ALWAYS fuck you. Autozone has good employees. Very good employees. Employees that are helping me get to my job tommorow.

After i close this window 2 e-mails are getting wrote, one telling how Ray at Autozone who saved my life and the asshole at the Ford dealership who spent 30 minutes of his time to pop the hood of my car and go “oh fan, bet this is it”.

Wow writing really is theraputic. Or maybe it’s the whiskey thats making me feel beter.

win

got the contract today

for a hour more then what was advertised

get in my motherfucking way now, poverty.

it’s only for 2-3 months but fuck. money is money and money is wine.

im going to name my first album that.

so this morning when i wake up for my meeting, i have to go by trilogy to have them remove my ear rings since i can’t get them loose. dude takes them out, gives them to me.

on the way to meeting my car starts to fuck up. I hate when im late for something because of my car because car trouble is the lamest excuse.

i drop it off at a transmission place since it really seems like a transmission issue. they say it’s not, it’s a engine problem.

thanks.

so now i have a job but no car to get to the job. i know jesus hates me but i’m tired of the mind games. seriously. cut that shit out.

going to have to find a ride to my first day of work. i am so glad they crucified you.

the worst part is i don’t even care anymore. after all the car wrecks and bad shit that has happened in my life, i’ve got a thick skin of apathy to protect me from the harsh realities of credit card debt, alcoholism and eventually suicide.

did i say suicide, i meant church.

yeah, church.

oh well. life sucks, things happen, it’s almost not even worth bitching about anymore. except that it may comfort someone who is depressed reading this shit. but probably not.

oh well. back to my whiskey.

selling out, to the man

today i had a job interview. tommorow is the 2nd job interview. i’ll be doing data entry and “web publishing” for a decent hourly rate.

only thing is it’s 9 to 5.

last time i had 9 to 5 was when i was 20. i’m 24 now.

tommorow is the real interview, when i meet the client and try to convince them, even tho im overqualified to do the work, that i want to do it and that i’ll do it leeter then anyone else.

im a terrible salesperson as it is but when it comes to selling myself it’s even worse.

because i hate myself.

oh well, the blend of excitement and nervousness fades away with the 3rd unisom and 8th glass of wine. If i get this job tommorow im going to have to make serious “lifestyle changes”. Like waking up during the day. Not drinking all day and all night. Wearing nice clothes and going to a office.

i just don’t care anymore. The are paying me so well that i could show up in a suit and tie everyday, get punched in the face for 8 hours and still be happy with how much i’m bringing home.

It’s so nice tho, imagining what it’s going to be like to have a job again. A “you do this and we pay you this month” but constant steady work for the next 2-3 months until the contract is up……

i’m terrified to see the workstation they give me if i get hired. I picture a packered bell with a 15 inch monitor. Here ya go, get to work.

Oh well, i shouldn’t get my hopes up. I’ll probably bomb the interview, accidently mention acid, alcoholism and racism and i’ll be back in freelance hell again.

Stay tuned, update to come tommorow after interview.

Either going to be really depressed or really happy, either way, the jug wine will be pwned.

Living Wage Facts

A worker who earns the minimum wage ($5.15 per hour) would need to work
at least 69 hours a week to be above the federal poverty level for a family of
four. Working this many hours at this wage would only lift his or her family
above the poverty line if the worker never missed any work time for sickness,
holidays, or vacation. (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services)

Working full-time for 50 weeks a year, a workers would need to earn at least
$9.20 an hour to be above the poverty line for a family of four. A worker would
need to earn at least $11.96 an hour to be above the income level that qualifies
for Food Stamps for a family of four. (U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services)

Most poverty experts believe that the federal poverty level is an outdate measure
that is too low. A 2002 study entitled “What is a Living Wage for Memphis?”
has found that the wage needed to meet basic needs for housing, transportation,
food, childcare, clothing, and health care in Memphis is about twice as high as
the poverty level. (University of Memphis, Center for Research on Women)

“What is a Living Wage for Memphis?” finds that in a family of four where both
parents work, each parent would need to earn at least $10.04 an hour to meet
their basic living expenses. A single parent with two children would need to
earn at least $15.64 an hour if working full-time. (University of Memphis,
Center for Research on Women)

The median wage for child care workers, one of the fastest growing occupations
in Memphis, is $6.36 an hour. Home health aides, another fast growing job in
our community, earn $8.31 an hour on average. (Tennessee Department
of Labor and Workforce Development; Bureau of Labor Statistics)

Among the fastest growing occupations in Tennessee, 85% pay less than a
living wage for a family of four, and 47% pay less than half of a living wage.
(National Priorities Project)

Forty-three percent of people renting housing in Memphis cannot afford the
fair market rent. (National Low Income Housing Coalition)

Fifty-two percent of workers in Tennessee earn wages below the poverty level
for a family of three. (Current Population Survey, U.S. Census)

I ugre everyone to write our mayor and City council to join the fight…..It is morally wrong to work a human being, half to death, and still have him and his children in the grip of poverty.
This issue will be a major part of the Joe Paycheck Society’s efforts in the comming year.

Election fraud like WHOA!

A friend of mine posted this on a blog earlier, i’ll have to look into to this one myself, but if this is true, then we have a serious problem here.

Smoking Gun

You may have seen the associated press story about the precinct in
Cuyahoga county that had less than 1,000 voters, and gave Bush almost
4,000 extra votes.

But that turns out to be only the tip of a very ugly iceberg. The
evidence discovered by some remarkably careful sleuthing would convince
any reasonable court to invalidate the entire Ohio election.

In last Tuesday’s election, 29 precincts in Cuyahoga County, Ohio,
reported votes cast IN EXCESS of the number of registered voters – at
least 93,136 extra votes total. And the numbers are right there on the
official Cuyahoga County Board of Elections website:

Bay Village – 13,710 registered voters / 18,663 ballots cast
Beachwood – 9,943 registered voters / 13,939 ballots cast
Bedford – 9,942 registered voters / 14,465 ballots cast
Bedford Heights – 8,142 registered voters / 13,512 ballots cast
Brooklyn – 8,016 registered voters / 12,303 ballots cast
Brooklyn Heights – 1,144 registered voters / 1,869 ballots cast
Chagrin Falls Village – 3,557 registered voters / 4,860 ballots cast
Cuyahoga Heights – 570 registered voters / 1,382 ballots cast
Fairview Park – 13,342 registered voters / 18,472 ballots cast
Highland Hills Village – 760 registered voters / 8,822 ballots cast
Independence – 5,735 registered voters / 6,226 ballots cast
Mayfield Village – 2,764 registered voters / 3,145 ballots cast
Middleburg Heights – 12,173 registered voters / 14,854 ballots cast
Moreland Hills Village – 2,990 registered voters / 4,616 ballots cast
North Olmstead – 25,794 registered voters / 25,887 ballots cast
Olmstead Falls – 6,538 registered voters / 7,328 ballots cast
Pepper Pike – 5,131 registered voters / 6,479 ballots cast
Rocky River – 16,600 registered voters / 20,070 ballots cast
Solon (WD6) – 2,292 registered voters / 4,300 ballots cast
South Euclid – 16,902 registered voters / 16,917 ballots cast
Strongsville (WD3) – 7,806 registered voters / 12,108 ballots cast
University Heights – 10,072 registered voters / 11,982 ballots cast
Valley View Village – 1,787 registered voters / 3,409 ballots cast
Warrensville Heights – 10,562 registered voters / 15,039 ballots cast
Woodmere Village – 558 registered voters / 8,854 ballots cast
Bedford (CSD) – 22,777 registered voters / 27,856 ballots cast
Independence (LSD) – 5,735 registered voters / 6,226 ballots cast
Orange (CSD) – 11,640 registered voters / 22,931 ballots cast
Warrensville (CSD) – 12,218 registered voters / 15,822 ballots cast

The Republicans are so BUSTED.

http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us//BOE/results/currentresults1.htm.top

..is the official website of the Cuyahoga county election board,
providing irrefutable evidence that the vote was off by at least 93,000.
Kerry lost Ohio by approximately 130,000, so this is not an
insignificant figure that can be ignored, particularly when there are
numerous other indications of voter fraud in Ohio and elsewhere.

I think the only possible alternative is to invalidate the entire Ohio
election, if not the entire national election. I’d say the game’s up.

America, it looks pretty much like you’ve been had.

I made the mistake of getting gas and a 40 at a gas station on Jackson. This homeless dude hobbles up to me and starts out with the normal “hey man, hey, hey, hey, i need to talk to you for a second”.

Now i always talk to these dudes because, well, it’s content.

He comes up and says “hey, now, i know what your thinking, but i’m not a crackhead, i’m just a alcoholic.” I smile and nod, and say “yah me too, sup?”. He asks for a dollar to buy a 40. I can relate.

I tell him, “okay, but i want you to pump my gas for me while i go inside and buy some beer for myself.” I give him a dollar and he pumps my gas while i’m inside. I come out, he smiles and i say “You need to learn some html, then you’ll always have money for beer, like me.”

He nods, i get in my car and drive off.

how i am coping with bush

woke up

puked

brushed teeth, packed up laptop and tablet, went to otherlands to meet with client.

no shower, no feeling, no care.

i drink rum and jungle juice out of steve’s fed ex mug. we decide to meet again at my apartment this sunday, buy a 24 pack and set the site life.

rogue web designer at work.

i chill at andy’s for a hour, work over phone and meet sek at lenny’s.

by now i am really fucked up, like i know i need to eat but i’m feeling really owned. i somehow order a sandwich and a drink. i get to the table and spill my sprite.

the cop that is in line sees me get up from one booth, where i just spilled a entire cup of sprite, and just sit down in the booth behind it.

sek sits down, also very aware of cop.

i eat a tiny bit, he finishes his sandwich but is still owned.

i am going back to bed.

A personal message to all of Crackhore’s Liberal readers

Well it’s november 3rd and while we do not have a President yet, things are looking grim….but before we move on to that lets clear the air about a few things.

It is not over yet, but in case of John Kerry not being our next President, i clearly and sincerly ask that we as the party and philosophy of reason and Justice, conduct ourselves in a manner that demonstraits our dignity, and our desire to have a united America..once more.

It is the beauty of the democratic process that we disagree, that in fact not only must we all learn to tolerate other world views but must defend even those individuals rights of speech and expression that we find disturbing and in some case sick.

I ugre Kerry to fight, to use every legal option to determine that the man to take the oath in Jan, deserves to.

We cannot fight intolerance with intolerance, nor can we or should we sacrifice our most treasured value…our steadfast belief in the right of all Americans to live in a Nation that does not simply pay lip service to our constitution…but fights endlessly to insure equal protection for all Americans.

It seems so clear…the choice between a man who dodged vietnam, vs a man who went and served.
A choice between a false conservative who does not care about controlling spending, and a senator, who hoped to return balanced budgets.
A choice between a president who led a War in iraq, with little clarity on various details that would have to led to post war success, vs a man who wants to remove the American face from this occupation, and create a more complete battle plan on the War on terror.
A man who politicized devisive issues that pit straits vs homosexuals, Whites vs latinos, to say nothing on Stem cell research or abortion….vs a man of science and ideas that could bring us closer as a nation.

It seems cleary to you or me…but many do not see it that way…

We have to keep that in mind in the comming days..as we move foward, for today is Nov 3rd..the first day of Election 06.

Alot of people are already starting to deny Kerry, already trying to blame this possible loss on him.

Here’s where i make you mad.
John kerry did not fail us….we knew who bush was, and what we knew we did not like. what we knew…we failed John Kerry.
We did not do enough, even those of us who voted, SOME of us who took a role in the local drives…did not do enough, but for all your hard work…..I want to say thank you, to everyone who stood up and fought for what’s right and important..everyone of you.
You at least had the courage and conviction to stand up….that is Patriotism.
I heard alot of folk taking the talk..but if we had shown up in full force we would have taken this State, and this country…no recount….no lawyers.

I personally could have done more……..and for that I am ashamed.

So where do we go from here?

Glad you asked…..We get up and start anew, the system knows that sometimes the voters make mistakes, that’s why we have elections every two, four and six years.
That being said, we simply must roll up oursleves and get back on the task of taking this country back from, intolerance, taking this country back from the fear, Taking this country back and giving it back to the middle class.
We still have a goal, and ours is as President Kennedy put it, a Long Twilight Struggle…we wanted to win the battle tonight, but if this battle is won or lost, the struggle must endure.
I am asking those of you how did stand up, to remain on the field, i am asking those of you who did not stand to stand now….let me tell you a story.

I am old enough to recall the 92 election, and I recall how bad the economy was, there was a lot of fear and doubt among everyone in my high school…what jobs were going to be out there for us?
How were we going to pay for college?
What were we going to do……and then a little known Governor from Arkansas, spoke to us about a little town called Hope.
That was the first time i really felt like we were headed towards better times, like something was changing, in this country, and i liked it.

Now alot of progress was made in the 90’s, but we did not do enough, we got lazy, and apathertic, and allowed a host of disturbing steps back to occur, these past four years.

I say we can change that again, I say we can make it all right again.

You know we have all heard alot about morals, and Values, as if Liberals do not have any, it’s a cheap shot and untrue…let’s talk about values.

Liberals were on the vanguard of the labor movement, ending child labor, establishing such conventions as the forty hour work week, as well as overtime….conservatives at the time claimed the Goverment should not be involved in such matters.

Liberals fought for the FDA and the fact that you can read about the ingrediants in your food, on the labels.

Liberals championed Women’s suffrage and the Civil rights movement.

Liberals have tirelessly fought to promote religious freedom and tolerance, as well as perserve the seperation of church and state.

Liberals also have time and time again fought for the rights of the individual, and tried to protect American citizens, from govermental abuse.

AND STARTING TONIGHT

Liberals will redouble our efforts, we will continue to go out and fight for our values.

Not wanting corporations to steal the retirement money of hard working people…is MORAL.

Not wanting a Patriot act that opens law abiding americans, to unconstitutional harassment is MORAL.

Believing that it is wrong to discriminate against americans, because they are gay…Iis MORAL.

Believing that Abortion is between a woman, her Doctor, and her God, Is a VALUE.

Believing that War should always be a last resort and not a first choice, is MORAL.

All of you, hold up your head, for history will record our ideals as the way to America’s future.

I am going to work, I am going to get involved, we all must accept responsibillty for the direction in which our nation is traveling…this is our country…our cities, our homes, and communities..our schools.

So the real question is..who’s in for the long haul?

Night all

crackhore.com : your choice for all drunken election coverage

we are all doomed.

no wait, kerry can still win.

this is so fucked.

see, i was optimistic, and look where it got me.

honestly i need to stop looking at politics like something i do know about.

im just looking at numbers.

shit is different on every liberal or neo con site i go to but it still looks like bush is ahead by just a tiny bit.

and doesn’t look like anyone is even close to finishing counting.

this shit won’t be done till like saturday morning.

honestly don’t even care anymore…..if bush wins and the entire world goes “omfg, wtf” and shit gets really really bad, you just gotta play on that fact.

at the apocalypse, someone will be selling shotgun shells and can goods and still updating their site.

just gotta kind look on the bright side, ya know?

(crackhore viewers pause as they realize, yup, mad not sober)

just saying, because a bunch of dogs died when they helped find survivors at the 9/11 site, now can exist at e-commerce site that sells masks to filter out shit for dogs at diaster sites.

actually i might start working on that.

little masks for dogs to search thru all the destroyed buildings that are going to come soon? god we are so fucked.

i know if you’re reading this terrible account of what it’s like to be trapped in this scary country, you don’t get it. but then again you’re probably strapping explosives to yourself since you’re watching the elction news too..

maybe im just being paranoid, maybe the economy will start going up, gas prices will go, people will stop getting owned in iraq, shit even if kerry pulls ahead while im typing this, it will still probably won’t happen.

i forgot i’m in happy land.

Okay, if you read thru that, i can give you my “voting story” for today.

THE FIRST TIME I VOTED:

BY SCOUT M TOAD

first time voter, really nervous. just so afraid of voter fruad, so afraid bush is going to get re-elected, not thing right.

i show up by myself to my voting place, totally unshaven, wearing a pair of town up gray pants and a t-shirt i pulled out of the drawer in a rush earlier, with a multiple little brownish stains one side of it(not a lot).

i walk in, show them my id and i walk up to the booth. i’m really afraid of voting booths, i heard they were confusing and that’s the reason bush got elected first. i’m thinking this is going to be the sat and the act all over again.

for some reason instead of walking behind the little curtain, i think “okay, i gotta walk behind this little box”. So i walk behind the box and i see like 2 dozen colored lights, plugs and shit. It has a little shallow cut out. I turn to the dude, who is kinda unshaven, probably reads this site, and he’s like “no dude you gotta go into the curtain”.

it makes a lot of sense suddenly.

i mutter to him “drank too much last night, sorry”.

“naw dude, i hear ya”

I vote for my candidate, ask the guy how to “finish”, he shows me the huge green button that’s slightly hidden, i punch it and walk out.

i get home around 8pm. I walk out of the bathroom and notice some writing on the back of my shirt.

It says J WAGS and PUMPING STATION in huge bold black letters.

(Two really popular gay bars in Memphis)

I realize what shirt i’ve been wearing all day.

About 2 years ago, my friend Sek gave me this shirt, well, lets just say he found it. He’s not gay tho, just happened to get it. I shouldn’t even mention him in this but it makes me feel less gay that he gave it to me? i dunno

It’s a typical “race t-shirt” with a pair of running shoes and some cursive text. When i put the shirt on i didn’t realize it says “I’d run a mile in their shoes”. It’s a fun run supporting the local gay memphis community 🙁

At the voting booth. At every store i’ve been to. At the resturant i had lunch with my dad while wearing it.

All day i’ve been feeling this “people are laughing at you” feeling and i just coughed it up to being paranoid. Instead it’s because im a walking hate crime just waitng to be committed.

Just picture my teeth on the curb, some Republican saying “I HATE FAGGOTS, NOT WELCOME!” Toad thinks he’s dying a martyr to democrats when in reality he’s dying cuz he didn’t read the shirt he pulled out of the drawer this morning.

i will be a homeland securit consultant.

Yup, tommorow is doomsday.

I hope you’re all ready to die.

cuz i am.

going to cast my vote and wait for the mushroom clouds.

maybe it’s the beer talking but i welcome the unknown.

im voting democrat since i’m kind of against the war we are waging.

i want people to vote republican cuz i am ready to see the cities in fire, looting, mass anarchy, panic, death, killing and riotting.

i havn’t gotten to do that in my generation. i want to be a war monger. i want to invade more countries but i just can’t seem to get pissed at people who don’t really hate me.

going to end this here and finish tommorow since tommorow things are going to be so much more intresting then they are now.

if we still have a internet(s).

even if we do still have internet(s), and bush gets re-elected, im not doing websites for a living anymore.

i will be a homeland securit consultant.

this is going to be a good little marketing tool. can fear get people to vote for someone? maybe i read 1984 too many times but i want to get in on the ground level.

i’m going to go to businesses and corporations and “consult” on matters of “homeland security”. i mean, it can’t be any harder then network security and i can probably do that unless some goddamn fucker in india takes that job too.

but white people don’t trust them anymore thanks to 9/11. they should have crashed those planes into indian call centers to really fuck with our economy.

but anyway

so tommorow, if kerry gets elected, and if cheney is right, and the terrorists are going to attack when kerry gets elected, call crackhore.com

thank you for calling crackhore homeland security, we help the helpless.

wes, gun and angel are on our way to save u.
